Floyd County, GA (Sept. 26, 2023) – Kyle Holladay, a 34-year-old LaFayette resident, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sept. 25, Monday morning close to Armuchee High School. Floyd County Police have accused a 46-year-old truck driver from Birmingham, Alabama with vehicular homicide. The tractor-trailer, according to the police, was being operated by Tony Orlando McFarland when it collided with the victim’s motorcycle. A Hyundai Santa Fe being driven by Carlos Ayestas, 50, on Blackwell Road heading west passed through the junction as Jared Burriss, 25, was traveling north on a Yamaha motorcycle near the intersection with Canton Road at around 1 a.m. on Sunday, according to police.
